Welcome to Cachette Anglaise, a converted and extended stone farmhouse providing a tranquil and rural location for your holiday. The house is on the outskirts of the hamlet of Laudet near Guerin in the department of Lot et Garonne.
The Lot et Garonne has been called the Tuscany of France because of its yellow fields of sunflowers, vineyards, cypress trees and red roofed buildings.
In the south west corner of France, midway between Toulouse and Bordeaux, Lot et Garonne is approximately 2 hours to the Atlantic coast [to the west] 2 hours to the Pyrenees [to the south] and 3 hours to the Mediterranean. This department of the Aquitaine has excellent motorway and rail links.
There are International airports at Bordeaux and Bergerac, flying to destinations across Europe and many airports in England and Scotland.
This area is full of unspoilt villages and bastide towns with maisons de maître, barns and village houses, rivers and the canal latéral de la Garonne (part of the canal du Midi), where a few remaining working barges still sail.
The views are expansive and comprise rolling hills and valleys of agricultural land. Much of the produce grown is well known in France – prunes of Agen, tomatoes and strawberries of Marmande, Armagnac brandy, apples, pears, kiwis and cherries. It is also a prolific wine growing area with Duras and Buzet being the most well known, and both a short drive away.

We offer 2 rooms as Chambres d’hotes. Both open onto a mezzanine area with shared bathroom, sitting room with English and French TV and a library with books, puzzles and games.

The Fox room: is suitable for a family as there is a double sized Four poster bed and 2 small singles, so can be booked to sleep 1 or 2 adults and up to 2 children under 12.
The Cat room: is suitable for couples as there is a double bed, so can be booked to sleep 1 or 2 adults.
Cachette Anglaise – Gite Georgette
Gite Georgette is a lovely, two bedroom holiday cottage, sleeping up to 5, with a maximum of 4 adults. It has a comfortable and stylish interior and garden with patio and BBQ for alfresco dining. The swimming pool and sunbathing terrace are just a few steps away.
